What is happening now on the Eco Cottages?

The rezoning for the project was approved by City Council November 20, 2017. Since then, the project has been put on temporary hold and we hope to begin construction in 2022.

Thank you everyone for your cooperation, patience and support!

How much will they cost?

Due to the volatility in the building industry, we will not be able to announce pricing until the homes are actually available for purchase.

  • 500 sf  (1 or 2 BR/ 2 BA)
  • 750 sf  (1 or 2 BR/ 2 BA)
  • 1000 sf (2 or 3 BR/ 2.5 BA)

When will you know the final pricing of the homes?

What happens next?

Following the zoning we will begin the permitting process.

What are you doing in the meantime?

In the mean time we are working with architects and designers to come up with both the exterior elevations and the revised interior floor plans.   We are working also on getting the pricing for the site development costs.  These include many things such as the water lines, sewer lines, grading of the lot, and a whole lot more.

Will there be a homeowners association and what will be the cost?

There will be a homeowners association and the cost will be determined as we work on the site development and the common area amenities.

Can I design my own home?

No, the designs of the homes will be set – however, there will be a number of options that you can select.

Can I have a tiny home on wheels in this community?

With this development there will not be any tiny homes on wheels.  All of the homes will be on permanent foundations and will be connected to the sewer, water and electrical systems of the community.

Can I rent my house if I buy in the Eco Cottages @ East Point?

Keeping the Eco Cottages a primarily owner occupied neighborhood is extremely important to us and the surrounding community.  Our homeowner's association will have bylaws which restrict rentals to 10%.  You will need to be on the list of approved renters, which will be a first come first serve basis and will be further outlined in the bylaws.
